The before and After School Childcare Program serves children enrolled at Greenwich International Preschool/Acorn Children's Corner is also available to children attending other private or public schools in the community. The program begins each morning with breakfast. Developmentally appropriate activities are provided for each child until it is time for school. The Childcare Program operates from 7:00 am and 9:00 am and again from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. During school holidays and throughout most the summer, full-day childcare is available from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. The program is designed to provide a message of security and consistency for children who stay at school until the end of the day. The environment is structured to provide children with varied experiences and many different choices including child directed and teacher initiated activities. Children have ample opportunity to explore the world in which they live and spend time with adults, other children and by themselves. Children may read, play indoors or outdoors, join in field trips, or become involved in a wide range of constructive activities.
